Fix title centering.

The \centering macro needs a limited scope to work correctly. This means the centered part needs to get terminated by a break, otherwise centering doesn't work as expected. This seems to be an issue only with newer LaTeX distributions, i.e. older ones seem to misbehave here.

Manual: apply FS#8309 by David Bishop (replace all occurences of 'folder/folders' with 'directory/directories') for consistency. Additionally tried to get rid of some unnecessary ones here and there but phrasing can definitely be improved further.

Use the svn revision number for version information too, version string is now "r- unless there is a static version file (e.g. created by tools/release).
